Pthousand fans packed in to witness the journey and the celebration as the Europe’s best 13 teams from each gen-
der did battle for the prized European Championships title and much desired World Championships qualification.

The EHF European Beach Handball Championships RANDERS 2013 will undoubtedly be remembered as not only a high-
light of the Beach Handball year, but also as one of the European Handball highlights of 2013. Hosting the Championships
in Crown Jutland (Kronjylland) provided a nice backdrop to a week of great sport, helped increase the profile of Beach
Handball around Europe and provided great sport for the spectators in the grandstands.
Seven days of sun and some great Beach Handball came to an end on Sunday 14 July when Hungary, in the women's
event, and Croatia, in the men's final, crowned European champions. The Danish women and the Russian men claimed
silver. Denmark's men's side and Norway in the women's competition claimed bronze.

The final tournament received broad coverage, in particular in Denmark, but also internationally, with several newspa-
pers, TV stations and social media outlets reporting on it. The European Handball Federation, for the first time, exten-
sively covered the event on its social media channels and, also, sent a designated video team to Randers. The EHF Beach
Handball Facebook page, which was launched at the start of May 2013, reached more than 112,000 people from 8 to 14
July. Videos uploaded on the new EHF Beach Handball YouTube channel also received several thousand hits.

Now, we look forward to 2015 and we hope that the success of our premier Beach Handball property will rest in safe hands!
